    SPM-PB consists of female students, youth and alot of housewives in West Papua, The women through the work of art or sewing are supporting the struggle of self-determination (Papua Merdeka).

    Melanesia Women’s Solidarity is a poltical resistance organization for liberation of West Papua from Indonesia’s colonial rule. SPM-PB is based in West Papua and has a national network throughout West Papua.

    Since the brutal occupation of Indonesia on Papua land, many West Papua Melanesia Women have experienced violence, rape, murder, discrimination and so forth. Hence, Melanesian women have to find a way to fight oppression.

    The national liberation struggle of West Papua is also the struggle of West Papua Melanesian women’s liberation. There is no national liberation of West Papua without the liberation of West Papua Melanesia women.
